The 6.8-magnitude tremor that struck south of Marrakech on September 8, 2023 claimed more than 2,000 lives in Morocco. Against this tragic backdrop, AMG Building decided to stand by the victims.
RMC BFMTV hailed the initiative in a articleOur company has exceptionally placed its employees on short-time working to enable them to become volunteers while continuing to be paid.
This approach was widely reported in the media as an example of concrete solidarity.
Our mobilization in the field
The short-time working measure enabled around a hundred AMG Building employees to mobilize in the field. The company's head office was transformed into a logistics platform: for a week, staff and equipment were sent to the most isolated villages.
Our teams have organized themselves to support disaster victims in a variety of ways, including collecting and distributing donations (food, blankets, mattresses, etc.) to affected families. We also set up tents and emergency equipment in isolated areas to protect refugees from the elements.
AMG Building manager Loubna emphasizes that despite the emotional difficulty, our teams remain fully committed:
We have obligations to our customers, but we can't leave the victims. We're committed, so we'll keep going. We'll follow up.
AMG Building remains determined to continue its solidarity action in coordination with local authorities and NGOs, until the region is completely rebuilt.
